WILLIAM ROACHE MBE GOLF DAY
(in aid of Childhood Eye Cancer Trust)
Thursday, 1st June, 2006

The longest serving member, indeed a founder member, of the Coronation Street cast, held a Golf Day for fellow celebrities and other local golfers, at High Legh Park Golf Club. After completing the final round, the party retired to the 19th hole, for both dinner and the auction.

The proceeds from this event, were to benefit Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT). CHECT aims to provide information and support to individuals and families with children diagnosed with a rare form of eye cancer which effects the retina in small children. It aims to raise awareness of this disease amongst health professionals and members of the public, in order to achieve earlier diagnosis, thus preserving life and sight.

In addition, the charity aims to raise funds for research into various aspects of retinoblastoma in order to enhance diagnosis, treatment and care. The Trust carries out valuable work in the areas of family support, research and raising public awareness. In order to meet the financial demands of these commitments, the Trust relies on charitable donations, and therefore invites and encourages fundraising within the community.

Bellagio Time was pleased to donate a 2.1ct diamond ladies timepiece for the auction in the evening, which raised £1,200 towards such a worthy cause.
