TRIBUTE EVENING TO DANIEL O’DONNELL
(in aid of Variety Club)
11th December, 2006

Variety Club NW hosted a tribute evening to honour Daniel O’Donnell, the Irish singer, who has done so much for children’s charities.

Paying their own tribute to him were Sir Cliff Richard, Charlie Landsborough, and Mary Duff (legends in their own right). Messages of support were received from Cilla Black and Gloria Hunniford. Also lending their support were fellow VC ambassadors Liz Dawn; Bill Tarmey, Julia Howarth, and Andy Whyment from Coronation Street.

With such wonderful talent present, it was not surprising that the guests were treated to an impromptu performance. Daniel sang a duet with Cliff, and Charlie sang My Forever Friend. Daniel then invited his guests to join him on stage to the accompaniment of a mini-disc player.

The whole room was caught up in the wonderful warm atmosphere of the evening.

The Managing Director of Bellagio Time personally presented Daniel and his wife with timepieces from the House of Bellagio, and Bellagio Time were pleased to donate two 2.1ct lady’s diamond timepiece for the auction, which raised £5,000 for the Charity.
